Soon, the photos went viral. ARMYs immediately claimed that the image was edited from a scene in BTS's reality show, "In The Soop." In the specific scene, V enjoys a car ride with J-Hope.

However, BLINKs confirmed that Jennie owns the same glasses seen in the photo. Furthermore, people claimed that the pictures were not edited, as the lighting and shadows are not easy to edit. It was also speculated that V's clothes in his "photo" with Jennie werewere different fromm what he was wearing on his trip with J-Hope.

On May 23, YG Entertainment responded briefly to the dating rumors. The company reached out to a Korean media outlet to briefly comment on the situation, saying, "We have nothing to say. We will get back to you if we have a different statement to share."
