NCT Lucas Draws Mixed Reactions for Latest Whereabouts
A year after he took an indefinite hiatus from the K-pop scene, Lucas' latest whereabouts are causing mixed reactions on the web.

NCT Lucas Goes on Indefinite Hiatus Following Controversy
Back in August 2021, NCT member Lucas became entangled in a series of controversies ahead of the release of his and fellow WayV member Hendery's song "Jalapeño."
At that time, multiple women who claim to be Lucas' ex-girlfriends stepped forward to accuse the idol of leeching money off of them, cheating, and gaslighting them on several occasions.
As the issue grew bigger and more women revealed to have experienced the same situation with Lucas, both SM Entertainment and Lucas issued formal apologies where he admitted to his past actions.

In light of the allegations, SM Entertainment and WayV's label Label V announced that the release of "Jalapeño" has been postponed indefinitely, and that Lucas will also be temporarily halting activities with both WayV and NCT.
Outrage from fans and netizens poured in, and even called for the removal of Lucas from NCT and its sub-units. Several of Lucas' fansites also closed amid the controversy.

But back in February of this year, Lucas made his return on social media by sharing a new post on Instagram after six months of hiatus. However, his simple post of a black and white photo of the ocean drew criticism from netizens, who were baffled to see him post despite it only being a few months since the controversy broke.

Since then, Lucas once again remained silent and has yet to share a new update.
But on May 31, one netizen on the online community forum Instiz shared Lucas' latest whereabouts. According to their post, Lucas was recently spotted at a driving academy, where the idol's autograph was put on display.
In his autograph to the academy, Lucas wrote, "To Green Academy, I like you."

In addition, the netizen also revealed that the NCT members had visited the academy to get their drivers' licenses in the previous week. The academy also told the netizen that they didn't have any more place to frame NCT's autographs, so they just resorted to sticking their autographs for display on the wall.
While Lucas getting his license during a private schedule is a rather normal thing, it eventually drew mixed reactions.
Many expressed their anger at seeing or hearing about the idol months after his controversy, and many were surprised that he is still in South Korea despite being on hiatus.
Some comments read:
"What the? He is still in Korea? I bet they are making him come back soon."
"Why would they ask for his signature...?"
"He is living a good life kkk. So funny."
"Freaking hilarious."

Some were also baffled that Lucas is still part of NCT, as he wrote the group's name along with his on his autograph.

"Did he write that NCT himself?"
"Huh? Is Lucas still in NCT? They are not kicking him out?"
"It looks like they are not going to kick him out."
"Looks like there are still opportunities for him to promote in Korea."
