On June 20, Baekho sat down for an interview with Singles after his photo shoot for the said magazine's July 2022 issue.

At the beginning of the interview, the "Face" singer told Singles that his "daily routine has recently been changing" to match that of a morning person. He went on to specify the changes and efforts he is making to manage one of the significant transitions he has faced-becoming a solo artist.

On March 14, NU'EST officially ended their group activities after three members- JR, Ren, and Aron decided to leave Pledis Entertainment. Minhyun and Baekho, on the other hand, both renewed their contracts with the agency. As a result, the members, including Baekho, will now pursue solo careers.

Former NU'EST Baekho commented, "It's hard to share every piece of information because I'm just in the beginning stages as a solo artist. But my overarching wish is to try doing various things."

He continued that he would like to release albums and become an actor if given a chance. He also wishes to star in musicals and appear on variety shows.

"To be honest, I'm more about doing what's in front of me well rather than planning for something," he shared.

Baekho later revealed what he's been up to since NU'EST disbandment. He stated that he has been working hard preparing for his solo career as Baekho this year, hinting at his potential solo debut before the year ends.

Regarding his preparation, the "INSIDE OUT" singer said, "I'm focusing and working hard on how I can utilize my voice better to create more versatile sounds within one song."

When asked what working hard means to him, the former NU'EST member responded, "It's just doing what you're capable of doing." He added that the standards for working hard and how to do it differ from person to person and that there are efforts people make either intentionally or unintentionally.

On March 21, former NU'EST Baekho released a new song titled "Bite!" as the third original soundtrack for the South Korean TV series "Crazy Love" starring Krystal Jung, Kim Jae Wook and Ha Jun.

Apart from that, the male idol played the main role in the musical "Equal," which parallels the COVID-19 pandemic and fake news. Baekho played the role of Theo, who is a small-town doctor.

Baekho's casting in "Equal" comes after his previous musical gig in "Altar Boyz," which wrapped up in 2021. "Altar Boyz" featured other popular male K-pop idols, such as ASTRO Sanha, SF9 Taeyang, and Golden Child members Joochan and Y.
