Way back on July 13, 2018, a rumor about BTOB Changsub dating a musical actress stirred after a video of the two together was uploaded online. The video particularly shows the two looking close with their arms linked while descending the stairs. The video has since been deleted (but you can see a glimpse of it here).

The musical actress in question is none other than Jung Jae Eun, who was starring in the musical "Dogfight," together with Changsub, at that time.

On the same day, BTOB's management agency CUBE Entertainment responded to the rumor through a press release. The company simply stated, "The story that is circulating online about Lee Changsub and Jung Jae Eun dating is not true."

The musical actress personally clarified her dating rumor with the male K-pop idol in an interview with news outlet TV Report. "Lee Changsub is just a close colleague," she laughing told TV Report. "I heard BTOB had a fan sign event the day that video was taken."
Reiterating how there were several people playing their respective roles as Rose Fenny and Eddie Birdlace in the "Dogfight," Jung Jae Eun explained, "There wasn't enough time until we would take the stage together, so he asked me for help. We met to practice and match our lines."

She then praised the BTOB member on how sincere he is when practicing and how he improves significantly with each performance. "Changsub is ambitious about musicals," she said. "I personally am very excited to witness his growth as an actor."
Several months after BTOB Changsub's dating rumor with musical actress Jung Jae Eun sparked, the male idol himself explained what happened when he appeared on the Jan. 8 episode of MBC Every1's "Video Star" in 2019.

Changsub explained, "We're really just close colleagues. That day, we met to talk about the musical we were starring in, and while going down the stairs, she said she was scared so I let her hold onto me."

Korean singer Se7en, who was also a guest in the show at that time, shared, "I have also worked with them. The three of us are really close. I wasn't there that day but they became awkward with each other because the dating rumor surfaced while the musical was ongoing."
