Back in February 2019, Song was swept up in dating rumors with former "BBoom BBoom" singer Daisy after an entertainment insider spilled that the two idols met while working in the same industry together, and eventually began dating not long after.

"Song Yunhyeong and Daisy are in a relationship. They met each other as junior and senior and began dating three to four months ago. When they have the time, they enjoy going on dates and are like any other couple. They're great together and are a beautiful couple. They are being very considerate towards one another."

A second insider in the industry told media outlets that Song and Daisy's relationship was already a well-known fact among select persons in the industry. The insider also agreed that they are suitable for each other.
The second insider said:
"[Their relationship] is already a known fact among some people [in the industry]. Their schedules are busy, so they cannot meet that often, but they hold each other very dearly. They are very suitable for each other."
After the news spread about them dating, Daisy's former label MLD Entertainment issued a statement first, stating that they would confirm with the idol regarding the facts of the rumors.
After the news broke, both YG Entertainment and MLD Entertainment finally issued a statement. However, it left fans and netizens more confused than ever.

According to MLD Entertainment's statement, they confirmed with Daisy that she and Song had been seeing each other for three months with interest in one another at the time.
However, YG Entertainment released a contradicting statement, which denied that Song and Daisy were in a relationship but had met up a few times with interest in each other.
Ultimately, this left many wondering if the two were really in a relationship or if it was one-sided. Song even received criticism and was labeled a "coward" for trying to lie about the relationship.
