Charlie Puth Defends BTS Jungkook From Hateful Comment by Own Fan
Back on June 24, BTS's youngest member Jungkook collaborated with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth for the song "Left and Right," in which the K-pop idol featured in.
Unsurprisingly, the two talented singers' collaboration song became a hit worldwide. "Left and Right" went on to enter numerous music charts, both international and domestic, including several Billboard charts like Global 200 and Hot 100, the Official Singles Charts in the United Kingdom, Circle Chart, Oricon Chart, and ARIA, among several others.

More recently, on August 2, Twitter account @chartdata, an account dedicated to sharing news about music charts, awards, the music industry, and more in real-time, announced that Jungkook and Charlie Puth's song had jumped four places on Billboard's Hot 100.
This week, "Left and Right" ranked No. 47 on the Hot 100 and marked their fifth week on the popular Billboard chart. The song also peaked at No. 22 on the chart.

Chart Data's tweet
While the majority of the tweets congratulated and praised the two artists for their achievements, not all of the tweets were kind.
In particular, one Twitter user commented, "Puth carried," implying that only Charlie Puth made the song successful and that Jungkook's contribution wasn't impactful to the results. The comment has since then been blocked from public view, with the Twitter user going private afterward.

While fans came to Charlie Puth and Jungkook's defense, the American singer himself decided to step in and defend the BTS member for such hateful comment.
With a simple tweet, Charlie Puth replied to the user, saying, "Team effort."

Netizens Praise Charlie Puth for Defending Jungkook
Following his tweet, numerous fans and netizens praised Charlie Puth for defending Jungkook from such comments. Many also expressed their happiness that Charlie Puth doesn't take his friendship with Jungkook for granted, as some artists may have done in the past.
