BLACKPINK Lisa's Hairstyle in 'PINK VENOM' Concept Photo Becomes Hot Topic
Ahead of BLACKPINK's much-awaited return to the music scene with "PINK VENOM" on August 19, Lisa raised more anticipation following her new hairstyle that will be seen for the first time since her debut.
Earlier in August, YG Entertainment started to release the title poster and teaser videos for the aforementioned comeback. The agency also dropped individual concept photos, featuring BLACKPINK members' upgraded visuals.
Indeed, the teasers raised expectations due to the quartet's challenging different styling from what they did before. Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé specifically showed their deeper charms and individuality, introducing trendy makeup and lip accessories.
But among all the teasers reveales, Lisa caught the attention of fans the most due to the small change she did that have a huge effect on her visuals. This is removing her iconic "full bangs" hairstyle!
BLACKPINK Lisa - 'Pink Venom'
In the photo, Lisa showed off a dreamy aura with a half-up hairstyle in addition to a 5:5 parting style with her bangs removed.
Fans joked that it is an honor to see Lisa's forehead with this comeback, which she kept for a long time due to her full bangs.
As soon as Lisa's forehead and bangless hairstyle became a hot topic on social media platforms and K-pop communities, a video of Lisa talking about her bangs resurfaced as well.
The clip features Lisa's appearance on JTBC's "Knowing Bros" where she confessed that she always protects her bangs and always had it since she was in fourth grade.
When the MCs asked if she can lift it if she was not working in a commercial, Lisa disagreed with a huge, "No."
Suddenly, Heechul proposed that they would pay her 10 billion won (7.57 million USD) if she will remove it and after pretending to be thinking for a moment, Lisa jokingly replied:
"I will remove my bangs when a 10 billion won advertisement comes in If it's a 5 billion won ad, I'm willing to open my bangs half."
Due to this, the inside joke among BLINKs, BLACKPINK fandom, about her hair was also brought back that the agency paid the "MONEY" singer 10 billion KRW to lift her hair.
BLACKPINK Surpasses 1.5M Pre-Orders With 2nd Studio Album 'BORN PINK'
BLACKPINK proved their status as the "biggest girl group in the world" ahead of their comeback with a new feat.
On August 18, YG Entertainment announced that the pre-orders for BLACKPINK's second full-length album "BORN PINK" exceeded 1.5 million copies in a week of pre-order sales.
With this album, BLACKPINK expects the best performance ever by a K-pop girl group. Considering that the release date of the album (September 16) is still one month away, it is not impossible to achieve 2 million or even 3 million.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will make an initial comeback through their pre-released song "PINK VENOM" on August 19.
