While the song as a whole is exceptionally captivating, a few parts of it came as a surprise to fans as BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" included lyrics that sound familiar to many.

In the first verse, Lisa sings, "one by one then two by two," which is slightly similar to the lyrics "It goes one by one, even two by two" in Rihanna's "Pon de Replay."

It may look like the South Korean girl group sampled "Pon de Replay," but it's more of using an interpolation: they recreated the original sound.

"Pon de Replay" was Rihanna's debut project, as well as the title single off her 1st full album "Music of the Sun," released in 2005, 17 years ago.

BLACKPINK members have previously spoken before about how Rihanna serves as an inspiration for them. And during the group's interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Jennie mentioned the artist as her example of how versatile hip-hop can be.
