K-pop Fans Want Wonder Girls To Have Full Group Comeback

Recently, there has been a series of good news in the music industry, such as second-generation girl groups Girls' Generation and KARA reuniting as a whole for a comeback.

Girls' Generation made a successful comeback in August with complete eight members, while the news of KARA's return to the music scene in November also earned keen interest.

As the comeback of second-generation girl groups, which swept the music industry, is becoming more frequent, fans are expressing their desire to see more legendary girl groups dominate the stage once again.

Among them, most fans are anticipating the comeback of Wonder Girls, launched by JYP Entertainment, which released numerous hits in the past.

Wonder Girls debuted in February 2007 and won the title of a national girl group representing K-pop at the time. Upon their debut with their first album's title track, "Tell Me," the team became a big hit, sparking the Wonder Girls craze.

The group consistently made consecutive hits, such as "So Hot" and "Nobody," earning the modifier, "Textbook of Girl Groups."

Unfortunately, due to numerous member lineup changes, the group disbanded in 2017, having four final members: Sunmi, Yeeun, Yubin and Hyerim. Sunye, Sohee and HyunA were part of the group's original lineup but left due to various reasons.

Earlier, Sunye, the leader of Wonder Girls before her departure, mentioned the real reason she left the group:

"My father and grandfather died while running on the road to success. Even if I became more famous and rich, I didn't think the emptiness would be filled. I thought it was time to rest."

She also clarified it's not true she betrayed Wonder Girls.

"I wouldn't have put the Wonder Girls down now. It wasn't in my mind at all. Why would I throw away Wonder Girls? I really wanted to tell you that it's not like that. I was sorry to hurt you unintentionally."

Following her statement, fans have increasing expectations if a reunion is possible, given that most members - Yubin, Sohee, HyunA, HA:TFELT (formerly known as Yeeun) and Sunmi - are currently active in the entertainment scene.

Following Wonder Girls, expectations are rising for the full group comeback of group f(x) as well.

f(x), which debuted in 2009, has not been fully active since their release in 2015, focusing on personal activities.

They did not officially announce the disbandment, but Amber and Luna stood alone with the expiration of their exclusive contract in September 2019, and Krystal nestled in H& Entertainment after the end of her exclusive contract in August 2020. Victoria also resigned from SM Entertainment, and everyone was scattered.

Fans wonder if f(x) would be able to reunite under their name and make a comeback just like what T-ARA did
