Back on Sept. 4, 2019, one netizen created a post titled "JooE caught on a date" on the online community Nate Pann to share a few photos they took. The pictures showed JooE wearing casual clothes walking arm in arm with a non-celebrity. The images quickly spread through social media.

The Nate Pann post also immediately earned various opinions from other netizens. Some were doubting that the woman in the photo is JooE, while others expressed their support. There were also netizens who doubt that the guy is her boyfriend and that if they were really a couple, they wouldn't date so openly like that.

Two days after the post was made, MLD Entertainment released an official statement to clarify MOMOLAND JooE's dating rumor.

The company said that after checking with JooE herself, they have verified that the man in the picture is her longtime friend who accompanied her to buy some sound equipment.

They further said that they remained silent regarding the matter as they believe the rumors don't deserve a response, but the female idol expressed that she was experiencing distress due to the baseless rumors surrounding her.
MLD Entertainment also announced that time that they will take legal action against the person who first posted the pictures, as well as against malicious commenters.

Since the time she was spotted with her longtime friend, MOMOLAND JooE has not been embroiled in further dating rumors with other people. She also has not made any revelation about her being in a relationship. So, she may supposedly be single at present.
