ITZY Yeji Reveals She Knew WINNER Song Mino Before Debuting
Recently, ITZY members Yeji and Lia made a guest appearance on the September 23 broadcast of tvN's variety program Look, My Shoulder's Dislocated, which is fully broadcasted on PD Na Young Seok's Youtube channel, Channel Fullmoon.
In this episode, the two ITZY members casually chat with hosts WINNER Song Mino, Super Junior Kyuhyun, and SECHSKIES Eun Ji Won as they eat and drink alcohol.
In particular, while the five were chatting together, Song Mino revealed an interesting fact about him and Yeji. He revealed that even before ITZY officially made their debut, the two had already known each other personally.

"Yeji and I actually knew each other before she made her debut as a member of ITZY. We are close," Song Mino revealed.
Yeji and Song Mino then went to explain how they knew each other, which they described as "being complicated."
"Yeah, it is a bit complicated. But, [Song] Mino is my dad's friend's wife's nephew," Yeji explained, leading the others to put on a confused expression with how complex the relationship between the two was.

SECHSKIES Eun Ji Won
They then revealed how they were introduced to each other, with Song Mino sharing it was when their families met up at his aunt's house for dinner.
He said, "Some years ago, I went to see my aunt because I hadn't seen her in a long time. There, I happened to have dinner with my aunt's family as well as Yeji's family. They were my uncle's friend."

Song Mino then revealed that Yeji's parents had asked for him to look at the ITZY member's dance skills, as Yeji wanted to become an idol herself.

"Following the meal, Yeji's parents had told me, 'My daughter's dream is to make her K-pop debut. Could you tell us what you think of her dancing?' I was like, 'Of course!'" He shared.
Song Mino went on to add that when a person is asked to dance unexpectedly, the person would usually become shy in doing so. However, Yeji didn't show an ounce of shyness as she immediately put the tables aside and began dancing.
"She was incredibly good. She amazed me," the WINNER member recalled.
Because he was impressed with Yeji's amazing dance skills, he immediately convinced her to audition for a company, as she needed to make her debut soon.

"So, I told her, 'You have really got to go audition somewhere. You shouldn't be here. You should be in Seoul, auditioning for companies,'" he said.
Song Mino added, "I also told her parents, 'She needs to make her debut.' That was like eight years ago."
Eventually, Yeji was able to become a trainee at JYP Entertainment before officially making her debut as a member of ITZY in 2019.
