Each member in most K-pop groups, if not all, are given lines in every song they release. The distribution of parts varies depending on whose voice fits the verses the best. But in some cases, there are members who are usually assigned to a particular part in the track, such as the five artists listed below. These five idols often sing the first verse in their group's songs. It can either be the whole first verse or a part of it.

The first one on our list is BLACKPINK Jennie. The main rapper is assigned to sing the first verse in almost every BLACKPINK songs, such as "Playing With Fire," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," Kill This Love," "As if it's Your Last," "How You Like That," "Lovesick Girls," "Pink Venom," and "Shut Down."

What's also interesting is that Jennie is also one of the members who usually sings at the end of their songs, like "Ice Cream," "Lovesick Girls," "Pink Venom."

Of course, our list also has TWICE Nayeon. ONCEs are well aware that Nayeon frequently sings the first verses in TWICE's songs. Among the tracks where you can hear her sing first are "Like Ooh-Ahh," "Cheer Up," "TT," "What Is Love?" "Likey," "Heart Shaker," and "MORE & MORE."

In an interview, Black Eyed Pilseung (the producer of most TWICE songs) revealed that Nayeon is always given the opening parts as she possesses the freshest and bubbliest voice out of TWICE members. And as a basic rule, members that are the main or lead vocalists tend to be given the first line in songs in order to capture listeners' attention.

While Jihyo is also a great candidate for opening lines, Black Eyed Pilseung thinks her voice is more perfect for a chorus.

aespa Karina is another female K-pop idol who often sings the first verse in her group's songs. In fact, she has been assigned to that particular part in the song ever since their debut with "Black Mamba."

Another fun fact about this is that Karina's lines in some of aespa's title tracks start with the word "I'm," such as "I'm addicted" in "Black Mamba," "I'm on the next level" in 'Next Level" and "I'm a killa" in "Savage."

The same thing happens to some male K-pop idols as well, including NCT members Mark and Taeyong. In particular, Mark starts NCT Dream's songs most of the time, while Taeyong does it in NCT 127 songs. There are times when Mark and Taeyeong share the first verse in NCT 127's releases.
