Former I.O.I turned soloist Jeon Somi became a hot topic for her volatile view of marriage.

In online communities, the "Anymore" singer drew attention from internet users and K-pop enthusiasts to how her marriage plan changed in three years.

Initially, the idol, born in 2001, expressed her ambition to marry at the age of 27 on SBS's "Law of the Jungle in Chuuk Lagoon," which aired in December 2019.

Jeon Somi, who was 18 at the time, had a sincere conversation with Han Hyun Min when asked:

"What do you want to do when you turn 20?"

Jeon Somi without hesitation replied:

 "I want to get married."

She surprised the viewers with her response but she explained:

"I want to get married and live a stable and happy life. I want to get married at the age of 27, but when I turn 20, I have only 7 years left. When am I going to find my man?"

She also added her desire to hold a wedding ceremony and implied that she started looking for a prospective husband.

In February 2020, Jeon Somi was consistent with her answer about marrying early during her appearance on the 17th episode of KBS 2TV's entertainment program "Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant."

The "XOXO" singer conveyed that she's jealous of seeing the newlywed life of singer Lee Jung Hyun and her husband.

She once again claimed:

"I'm really jealous. I want to get married soon, too. I think it'll be so much fun."

Jeon Somi Changes Plan After Realizing Reality of Marriage

Initially, Somi wants to get married early at 27 because of seeing the cute life of newlyweds, but she realized the reality of marriage and relationships after joining a celebrity reality show, "Lose If You Are Envious."

In March 2020, an online press conference was held for the aforementioned show and when asked if she would like to have an open relationship, Jeon Somi replied:

"Now that I'm 20, I don't want to have a relationship. I'm immersed in my work."

She added:

"My original goal was to get married at the age of 27, but I realized that marriage was not easy when I started this program. I want to postpone my marriage a little and do it in my early 30s."

But even before reaching her 30s, the now 21-year-old star completely loses her desire to date and get married early.

The program, which aired in May 2020, revealed Jeon Somi declaring her non-marriage plan, contrary to what she originally planned.

Internet users who saw the post responded by saying:

• "When she was young, she want to get married without thinking."
• "I don't have to believe in the declaration of non-marriage coming from someone in her 20s."
• "I may not want to do it if I were Jeon Somi."
