What's Happening To LOONA? Girl Group's Past Activities Re-Examined

After Chuu was reportedly kicked out from her group LOONA due to alleged power abuse, K-pop fans raised their brows against Blockberry Creative after re-examining the group's previous activities, questioning the agency's treatment of its artists.

LOONA's Past Activities Re-Examined – Are They Being Overworked?

On social media platforms and K-pop communities, the past activities of LOONA are gaining attention, highlighting how Blockberry Creative seems to be treating the girl group.

Earlier, LOONA embarked on their first world tour, "LOONATHEWORLD," starting with LA in July and completed 14 shows in the U.S. in August in Mexico City.

During a show on August 28, Yeo Jin suddenly fainted and collapsed while posing for the ending after performing on stage, causing shock among attendees. The agency explained that she had a temporary breathing problem but became stable, thanks to on-site medical staff.

Despite that, the health problems among LOONA members continued.

On September 4, Choerry was absent from the performance due to health reasons, and two days later, on the 6th, HaSeul reported her absence due to shoulder injury pain.

In addition, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Yeo Jin, and Olivia Hye were absent from the performance, and eight people, excluding Chuu, Choerry, Olivia Hye, and Yeo Jin, finished the tour at the last performance in London on September 16.

When the fact was belatedly re-examined after the news of member Chuu's expulsion, people began criticizing Blockberry Creative.

  • "This is too much."
  • "I think the group is too businesslike."
  • "I feel so sorry for the members."
  • "The agency prioritizes money over the members' safety and health."
  • "The term 'family' between Blockberry and LOONA doesn't apply."

Blockberry Creative Releases Additional Statement After Suspicions About Chuu's Withdrawal

Meanwhile, Blockberry Creative initially announced on November 25 that it would remove Chuu from LOONA due to alleged abusive remarks and power abuse to their staff.

However, various officials, including web entertainment writer "Protect Chuu," member Hyun Jin, as well as singer Sunmi, have supported the idol, raising suspicions about the credibility of the agency's claims.

Due to criticism and speculations of lying that the agency received, Blockberry posted a new statement, saying:

"It is not our intention to expose Chuu's power trip to the public and the media.

But it is a natural explanation process to write the reason for her withdrawal, and it is the right of Chuu herself and the staff who suffered the damage to provide facts and evidence.

If there is anything unfair or wants to correct, the parties should reveal it themselves, and we have already confirmed what happened between Chuu and the staff, so we released the statement.

We ask you to refrain from groundless speculative reports related to this fan notice or malicious comments and rumors that undermine our reputation... we will cooperate in providing content and evidence."
