(G)I-DLE Minnie Sparks Dating Rumor After Wearing A Ring + Couple Item?
On December 13, Minnie found herself caught in an unexpected dating rumor.
The "Nxde" singer held a live broadcast on the same day with the title, "Long time no see," on Naver V Live and took her time to communicate with Neverlands (fandom).
During the broadcast, Minnie answered various fan questions such as:
"What are you most proud of if you look back on this year?"
Minnie responded and explained:
"Our members, including me. Because we have been through a lot from last year to this year. We also released our first full-length album this year, and we had our first overseas tour this year, too. These were big steps for us. So I'm proud of our members who are working hard. I'm also proud of Neverland. I hope we will develop further next year."

Amid this touching message, what gained the interest of viewers the most was her ring. In an online community, an article said:
"Isn't it too obvious to wear a wedding ring on your left ring finger? For your information, the ring that Minnie bought herself can't fit on her ring finger.
But her boyfriend must have less money than Minnie, so he gave her a ring that was much cheaper than Minnie's."
The author provided two screenshots, showing Minnie with two rings on, each on her both hands. With this, many Neverlands developed suspicions that Minnie may be currently seeing someone.
Upon looking into the ring's brand, people found out that it was a wedding band from the luxury brand Cartier, often worn by couples.
The second reason is that Minnie said on her live broadcast on the same day that she already moved out from (G)I-DLE's dorm. The speculation then strengthened that she is currently dating someone.
However, regarding the ring, some defended the "TOMBOY" singer and clarified that although the ring is created for couples, the product is also known to be worn by K-pop idols as stage jewelry and friendship rings.

This is not the first time that Minnie was embroiled in a controversy about a romantic relationship.
In 2019, she was linked to Stray Kids Hyunjin after they were caught stealing glances from each other. It was also speculated that Minnie wrote a song about how attractive it is for someone to have a mole near the eye. Coincidentally, Hyunjin has this feature.
However, this wasn't confirmed.
