On the Dec. 14 broadcast of tvN's television show 'You Quiz on the Block," Min Hee Jin and NewJeans made an appearance as the latest guests.

During the interview, ADOR's CEO expressed her affection for the rookie girl group, saying, "I like to think of myself as their second mom. It almost feels as if I've given birth to these girls, and raised them."

She laughed and added, "That's why everything that is going around now feels so amazing, and makes me shed tears as well. Their success makes me truly emotional."

Min Hee Jin went on to say that she knew NewJeans was going to be big from the start, and then revealed how successful the quintet was following their debut, finance-wise.

She said, "NewJeans made their debut in July. Their songs were much-streamed online, and they were also able to sell lots of copies of their album."

Because of these factors, NewJeans was able to receive their first payment immediately.

Min Hee Jin revealed, "They were able to get paid only two months after their debut. I was so thankful for that."

The "You Quiz on the Block" hosts then asked the "Hype Boy" hitmakers to share what they bought with their first payment.

Minji replied, "I bought a gift for my parents. I just wanted to buy them gifts before anything else."

She added, "Actually, I still receive an allowance from them every month. So, I wanted to buy something for them with the money that I earned on my own."

The youngest member Hyein then said that she bought key rings worth 90,000 won (approximately $69) for herself.

"I really wanted to buy those key rings, but I felt bad about asking my mom to buy them (for me)," she continued. "Because of that, I couldn't buy them (myself). But I felt proud that I was able to buy what I wanted with the money that I earned."

NewJeans stepped into the music scene on July 22 with "Attention," one of the three title tracks of their debut EP "New Jeans." They went on to release "Hype Boy," "Cookie," and "Hurt."

Out of the four songs, "Hype Boy" was immensely loved by Bunnies (NewJeans' fandom) all over the world because of its catchy sound and trendy choreography. This song is also widely known among other K-pop idols and even actors and actresses.

Thousands of "Hype Boy" covers and dance challenges emerged on social media shortly after its release.

Even though it has been half a year since NewJeans' songs came out, all of them continue to rank high on Korean music charts.

THIS NewJeans Song Becomes Group's 2nd Release to Hit 100 Million Streams on Spotify

In other news, another one of NewJeans' songs surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, and it's none other than "Attention."

"Attention" achieved the feat on Nov. 2, just 110 days after its release, becoming the group's second track to do so. The first of their songs to reach the 100-million mark is "Hype Boy."
