Following PENTAGON Hongseok's early discharge from the military due to panic disorder and depression, SHINee Taemin, who suffered from the same health issues, is suddenly earning praise.

On December 26, Cube Entertainment, PENTAGON Hongseok's agency, announced that the idol will be discharged from the military early due to panic disorder and depression symptoms with acrophobia.

In particular, on May 3, Hongseok joined the army as a military band officer and was supposed to come out in November 2023. But after his symptoms worsened, he was discharged seven months after entering the camp.

He's continuously receiving treatment and counseling.

Following this news, attention is focused on the military life of SHINee Taemin. Just like Hongseok, Taemin entered the military in May 2021 and began his service in the military band. He was also set to go out in November this year, but it was moved to April 4 after being transferred to a supplementary role.

At the time, SM Entertainment explained that his depression symptoms and panic disorder that he has been suffering from before have worsened after joining the military.

Following this, there are some who are quick to criticize Hongseok for not finishing his supposed service period. K-pop fans also recalled the time Taemin suffered from the same thing, but fortunately, his military colleagues stepped up for him and narrated the idol's military life. Mr. A said:

"I remember that Taemin brought a lot of medications such as for depression when he was in the training center and took them every evening.

Even if it was hard, he showed a bright side in front of his younger brothers and played well with us. I heard that he suffered from chronic diseases before joining the military, and he was always working hard and enduring every training session."

Colleague B attested to this, adding:

"We lived together for about two weeks, and he had a hard time getting medicine every day due to depression and panic symptoms, and he often woke up every night. There were times when he received additional medicine at night and took it."

B then pleaded:

"But he was a good brother who cheered me up even when I broke up with my girlfriend last time. He was very anxious and worried that he would get malicious comments if he left.

I would appreciate it if you don't say anything too much."

With these anecdotes about Taemin, which revealed how hard he tried to do his best in the military, Hongseok's supporters also hoped that people won't criticize his too much and just wish for his speedy recovery.
