BIGBANG Taeyang Chosen As Givenchy's New Global Ambassador, Becomes First Korean Male Artist To Achieve Feat
On January 17, Givenchy announced that Taeyang of BIGBANG will be their new global ambassador.
Moreover, this will mark Taeyang as the first South Korean male artist for the role.

Givenchy's creative director Matthew Williams commended Taeyang, praising his artistry. He added how the idol's way of expression is perfectly fitting with Givenchy's current aesthetic.
"Taeyang is an inspiring artist - a music pioneer with an authentic, barrier-breaking way of expressing his own personal style, which fits perfectly with today's Givenchy aesthetic."
Taeyang also shared his enthusiasm about working with Givenchy. He expressed gratitude directly to Givenchy, as the opportunity is a meaningful one for him. The idol also added how Givenchy's brand has become an inspiration for him in his career.
Furthermore, Taeyang voiced out his excitement with working with Matthew Williams. He spoke well of the director, mentioning Matthew's steadfast leadership in the fashion industry and culture.

Taeyang made his professional debut in 2006 with the boy group BIGBANG, one of K-pop's legendary acts. He has subsequently gone on to release several solo albums, capturing fans' hearts worldwide.
The selection of Taeyang is the third major declaration from a fashion brand this week, following the appointment of BTS' Suga by Valentino, and Jimin's signing as a global ambassador on Dior.
BIGBANG Taeyang Radiates 'Vibe' Featuring BTS Jimin
On January 13, Taeyang collaborated with BTS Jimin on the smash hit "Vibe."
The MV for "Vibe" has currently garnered a total of 47,775,437 views on YouTube. The single established a great chart performance in Korea, and quickly rose to the top of iTunes charts in 60 countries.
ARMYs and VIPs flocked on the post, delighted to see two of the most prominent K-pop stars in one video. They expressed their excitement over the song, since they started 2023 with a bop.
