JYP Conveys What Factors Make An Idol Survive Music Industry
On January 19, ITZY posted the 4th episode for their CHECKMATE World Tour titled, "ITZY - IT'z TOUR BOOK: EP 4."
With ITZY finishing their Los Angeles stop, the girls took a break on the following day. The vlog started with the members sharing their thoughts on the concert, while expressing gratitude to MIDZYs who attended the event.
During the video, it is revealed that ITZY will be having a meal with JYP himself!
The "Don't Leave Me" performer has visited ITZY during their world tour, emitting fatherly vibes from the JYPE founder.
With this time off, it also gave ITZY the chance to explore Los Angeles.
When they arrived at the restaurant, JYP congratulated ITZY for doing a great job in their stages. The founder also brought up how each one of the members possess the potential to become soloists.

However, ITZY's leader, Yeji voiced out a concern regarding how difficult it is to stay on top, because of the music industry's unpredictable nature. She also mentioned how tricky it can be, especially when the song is not favorable.
Furthermore, Yeji added how torn she is on what unique characteristic the group should retain and cultivate.
"There are clearly similar but different concerns these days. Because of the times today, when our song is good, we go up. But when it's not good, we go down right away.
"This seems to happen really fast, so I'm really torn between what distinct characteristic we should keep and develop to maintain the position together."
JYP replied that idols who can hold a mic and dance simultaneously are rare. He added that idols who can accomplish both aspects are the ones who will survive. While there are other idols who didn't get to go solo, JYP remarked that all ITZY members have the potential to do so.
"There aren't many idol stars who can hold a mic and sing and dance at the same time. That's who will survive. Those who can dance and sing live survive."
"It's hard to say, all members of all groups are skillful enough to become solo artists. But that's true for you guys, so I hope you all prepare yourselves."
MIDZYs React To JYP's Words, Commending Him For His Sincerity & Wisdom
On an online forum, MIDZYs caught wind of the video, and agreed to what JYP had said towards ITZY. They expressed how singing and dancing are important fundamentals needed to survive the music industry.
