Boys Planet Episode 5 Recap: Contestants Undergo First Eliminations + 52 Trainees Remain
The fifth episode for Mnet's survival program has been aired and focused on the contestants' first eliminations, leaving 52 trainees to advance on the next round.

'Boys Planet' Episode 5: Contestants Undergo First Eliminations, 52 Trainees Remain on The Program
After a fierce contest on episode 4, where K-group and G-group engaged on a performance battle, K-group gained the upper hand after winning over 6 to 1 against G-group. The groups performed songs from seven best-selling groups, who made their footprint on the K-pop genre.
These songs include "VERY NICE" by SEVENTEEN, "Kill This Love" by BLACKPINK, "Love Me Right" by EXO," "Burn It Up" by Wanna One, "Danger" by BTS, "Back Door" by Stray Kids, and "Hot Sauce" by NCT DREAM.
Following their rivalry round, the 93 trainees are to experience their first withdrawals on the show.
On episode 5 of "Boys Planet," the first eliminations were revealed. A total of 41 trainees were eliminated, effectively leading 53 out of 93 trainees to move on the next round. Star Master and actor Yeo Jin Goo had the honor of unveiling the results.
The announcement revealed that the first "Boys Planet" global voting period, was determined in 176 countries. Overall, a total of 52,434,522 votes were included, and these votes were covered on a 20-day period.
Yeon Jin Goo also stated that the "killing part" in the group's debut song and solo track will be awarded to trainee who'll win first place on the rankings, alongside the main prize of the top nine finalists.

On the episode's climax, the top nine finalists were revealed, alongside the remaining trainees who were still competing on the program.
With the eliminations revealed, the trainees bid farewell to those who were dismissed on the program. However, the battle is far from over, since the contestants have yet to experience more obstacles in future episodes.
