BTS Takes Home RIAJ Million Certification + LE SSERAFIM, NCT DREAM, More Receive Platinum
BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and other K-pop groups have been granted numerous certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

BTS Receives Million Certificate + LE SSERAFIM, NCT DREAM, Stray Kids Earn Platinum
On March 10, the Recording Industry Association of Japan or simply known as RIAJ, has took off the veil on artists who've won certifications.
First in the announcement was BTS, who received an official million certification from RIAJ, due to their 2020 Japanese album "Map of the Soul: 7 ~ The Journey ~" shipping over one million units.
On RIAJ's certification requirements, 100,000 shipped albums equates to a gold certification, 250,000 for platinum, and 1,000,000 for a million certificate.
HYBE and Source Music's girl group LE SSERAFIM also joined in, receiving a double platinum certification for shipping 500,000 units with their debut single "FEARLESS."
This achievement has also made LE SSERAFIM the first K-pop group ever to earn a double platinum with a Japanese debut release.

Meanwhile, NCT DREAM's "Best Friend Ever" and Stray Kids' debut Japanese studio album "THE SOUND" were both given platinum certifications. This is due to the albums shipping over 250,000 units when it was released on February 8 and 9 respectively.

In other news, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has also announced the K-pop artists who've won streaming certifications.
On February 27, BTS received triple platinum certifications from RIAJ, after gaining 300 million streams with "Butter" in Japan. This was trailed by their single "Permission to Dance," which earned its double platinum RIAJ certifications after amassing 200 million streams.

BTS's 2020 smash hit "Dynamite" also joined in their platinum compilation, after it exceeded 500 million streams, earning the group with RIAJ's diamond certification.
These achievements led BTS to become the only Korean act with three highest RIAJ streaming certifications.
With LE SSERAFIM hot on their trail, the fourth-generation group was granted with an RIAJ gold certification. Their song "ANTIFRAGILE" has reportedly surpassed 50 million streams in Japan.
K-pop Artists Who Received the Most RIAJ Certifications
On K-pop's history, various artists have received numerous RIAJ certifications due to their flourishing music and increasing popularity. With that in mind, there are those who managed to cop more than a dozen RIAJ certifications in their career. It also shows how popular these artists are in Japan!
