'Boys Planet' Episode 6 Recap: Contestants Initiate 1st Round of 'Dual Position Battle'

Mnet's new survival program "Boys Planet" has now released its sixth episode, which concentrated on trainees' 2nd mission, "Dual Position Battle."

'Boys Planet' Episode 6: 'Dual Position Battle' Heats Up Intense Rivalry

"Boys Planet" has now engaged viewers to the contestants' second mission, heating up the competition.

This newly released idol survival program by Mnet is the counterpart of "Girls Planet 999," which formed Kep1er. On its previous fifth episode, the trainees went through their first elimination process.

After their fierce cover contest on episode 4, K-group won 6 to 1 against G-group, making them take the lead in the boiling contest. In the end, a total of 52 contestants remained, since 41 were withdrawn from the show's original 93 participants.

The honor of unveiling the results, were placed on actor and Star Master Yeo Jin Goo. Apart from the 52 contestants, the top nine finalists were revealed on episode 5.

In episode 6, it was revealed that BTOB Minhyuk is the program's fourth Star Master. He has now joined alongside previous coaches Hwang Minhyun, Sunmi, and Yeo Jin Goo.

Minhyuk is more than qualified to appear as a Star Master, since he's also known for bringing talent to the table with his music, performances, composition, songwriting, and even his DJing skills. On March 3, Minhyuk joining the roster was announced. "Boys Planet" PD (Producing Director) Kim Shin Young praised Minhyuk's veteran experience and talent.

"With his chemistry with the trainees, which transcended their senior-junior relationship, Lee Minhyuk improved the set's mood. You will be able to witness Minhyuk's sensible performance as an MC, in addition to his solid demeanor as a senior."

Star Master Minhyuk then introduced the trainees to their second mission, titled "Dual Position Battle." In this segment, the participants will be tackling two different roles, which consists of vocal and rap, vocal and dance, or rap and dance. As benefit, the victor will get to perform on Mnet's "M Countdown."

Vocal and rap category consisted of mission tracks "TOMBOY" by (G)I-DLE, "Man In Love" by INFINITE, "Limousine" by BE'O, and "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms."

For vocal and dance, the songs required were "Home" by SEVENTEEN, "Feel Special" by TWICE, "Love Killa" by MONSTA X, and "Butterfly" by BTS.

Lastly, rap and dance will include "ZOOM" by Jessi, "GANG" by H1GHER MUSIC, and "LAW" by Yoon Mirae and BIBI.

In the episode's conclusion, two exciting previews were shown, keeping viewers tight on their seats. In the first teaser, viewers are presented by the next batch of performances, while the second offered a glimpse of their third mission.
