Kep1er Announces Comeback, Japan Concert Tour 2023

Kep1ans, rejoice! Kep1er has a lot in store for you!

The "monster rookie" is preparing for another comeback, slated for release in April. They also announced the dates of their concert tour in Japan!

Kep1er Announces Japan Tour, Releases 2nd Japanese Album

On March 15, Wake One and Swing Entertainment also announced the dates of Kep1er's first Japan Concert Tour.

The concert is expected to kick off in May in Tokyo, Japan, then in Aichi and Kobe, Japan.

On the same day of the concert announcement, Kep1er released their 2nd Japanese single album, "Fly By."

The song "Fly By," which means "approach flying," metaphorically expresses the singer's desire to meet someone special, or convey wanting to meet and have romantic feelings towards someone.

Kep1er's new single album contains 5 tracks, which includes the Japanese original track "I do, Do you?", and b-side "tOgether, fOrever."

The album also features the Japanese remix of "WA DA DA" and Japanese versions of "MVSK" and "We Fresh," both from Kep1er's Japanese 3rd mini-album, "TROUBLESHOOTER."

Meanwhile, Kep1er will return with new music on April 10.

Kep1er's Outstanding Popularity After Debut

The multinational 4th-gen rookie group, who will embark their first Japanese arena tour, proved their popularity in Japan since debut.

Kep1er debuted with their first mini-album "First Impact," which was followed by their second mini-album "Doublast," Japanese mini-album "Fly Up," "Sugar Rush," and "Troubleshooter."

 

Some of their accomplishments was with "WA DA DA" surpassing 100 million views on YouTube three months after release.

Their debut album, "First Impact," sold over 200,000 copies in a week after its release, which is considered a huge achievement for a rookie group.

Further, the group won "Best 3 New Artist - Asia Division" and "Song of the Year via Streaming - Asia Division" at the "37th Japan Golden Disk Awards."

Kep1er debuted in January 2022 through MNET's reality-survival show "Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga." The program only consisted of 99 contestants, and only nine were chosen to debut as a girl group.

The 4th-generation team consists of multinational members: Yujin, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Heuning Bahiyyih, Yeseo and Yongeun.

Kep1er Yongeun Takes Hiatus

On March 7, Kep1er Yongeun announced her hiatus after the group's agency announced that her father passed away.

The Wake One and Swing Entertainment stated that Yongeun's family would hold a funeral only for close friends and immediate loved ones.

The agency stated:

"We're letting you know Youngeun won't be able to join Kep1er's schedule as planned. We ask that you consider and comfort Youngeun, so she'll be able go through the mourning she needs."

 according to Wake One and Swing Entertainment.
