TXT Beomgyu Confronts Sasaengs Disrupting Live Stream — Are Idols Under Siege?

TXT Beomgyu recently gained attention for publicly confronting sasaeng fans who called him during his live broadcast.

This incident has raised concerns about the invasion of privacy faced by idols and the need for more protection from their agencies.

TXT Beomgyu Calls Out Sasaengs During Live Stream

On April 26, TXT Beomgyu surprised fans with a live broadcast from a hotel. The idol communicated with his fans (MOAs) by sharing updates and positive vibes.

However, netizens were angered when TXT Beomgyu had to address sasaeng fans who called him during the live stream. He kindly asked them:

"Could you please not call me. I need to look at the comments on my phone."

Beomgyu also mentioned that he couldn't play music on his phone, likely due to the sasaengs' calls. Nonetheless, he simply stated:

"I believe it might be difficult for me to play music on my phone right now. So, I'm going to grab the iPad instead."

He subsequently clarified that he refrained from using his phone due to incoming calls from an unidentified number.

TXT Fandom MOA Demands HYBE To Protect Idols

After the broadcast, the fanbase expressed anger at the sasaengs, who made Beomgyu uncomfortable. They demanded that HYBE, TXT's agency, take action to protect their artists.

One fan urged, "Protect your idols," while another advised fellow fans to "report strange comments" during live streams.

Another expressed their frustration, saying, "Leave him alone, you sick stalkers. He's already uncomfortable, you're crossing the line and invading his privacy." ‎

Idols Who Encountered Sasaengs During Live Broadcasts

This is not the first time idols have had to deal with sasaeng calls during live broadcasts.

BTS V, ATEEZ Wooyoung, and many more have expressed their anger towards receiving calls from sasaengs during live streams. These instances highlight the need for stricter boundaries and protection for idols in the K-pop industry.
