This was also used in the K-pop scene and the most popular female "troika" introduced in the second-gen was "Yoon-Suz-Sul," comprising SNSD YoonA, Bae Suzy and the late Sulli.

When the third-gen K-pop era came, this "troika" has been challenged by the famous "visual trinity" Red Velvet Irene, BLACKPINK Jisoo, and TWICE Tzuyu.

While the aforementioned "troikas" are easily agreeable, there is a heated debate about the real fourth-generation visual trio among netters and fans, discussing whether it should be aespa Karina or ITZY Yuna that should join IVE Jang Wonyoung and NMIXX Sullyoon.

On July 4, an internet user posted an article mentioning the visual line "Jang-Ka-Sul" and asked netizens' opinions if Haerin should be added to this. Upon its posting, the article now has about 120k views and is reigning in the top spot in the real-time best rankings.

While most of the web users acknowledged NewJeans Haerin's beauty, there is a rather heated argument that sparked in the comments section, questioning if the true 4th-gen's "troika" is "Jang-Ka-Sul" or "Jang-Yu-Sul."

According to some, Karina deserves the spot not only because of her beauty but her ability to dominate the music scene with just her appearance. People who chose her explained:

• "I'm a guy, but Karina is really one-top."
• "I think people are fighting because of Karina. In reality, she's recognized as the best visual member, and it's especially bad only on the board (site). If a girl group says they want to resemble Karina and says she's pretty, haters will have a seizure."
• "What do you mean by Jang-Yu-Sul? Look at the visual voting. Karina is always the unrivaled No. 1 in the 100,000 votes. Just Karina No. 1."

On the flip side, other internet users think that the original one is "Jang-Yu-Sul," highlighting how Yuna caused frenzy for her visuals even before her debut, compared to Karina.
