Soojin 'Ignored' by Idols? Media Speculates Why Ex-(G)I-DLE Member Didn't Do THIS During Solo Debut

Despite her successful solo debut, K-media speculated the reason Soojin didn't do THIS during promotion.

Was she ignored by K-pop idols?

Soojin Draws Curiosity on Why She Didn't Do Dance Challenge With Idols, Celebrities

After taking a break from the music scene for two years, Seo Soojin returned with a solo album.

On November 8, the former (G)I-DLE member released her solo album, "AGASSY," under her new agency BRD Entertainment.

This comeback was eye-catching since it signaled the resumption of her activities after the controversy, and also her first release after leaving the group and Cube Entertainment.

However, amid her debut activities, Soojin's social media platforms are so quiet that it's hard to say she just made a release.

It's part of the K-pop culture to post numerous shorts/reels on SNS. Among them is doing a dance challenge with friends or fellow K-pop idols and celebs they meet on music programs.

Some idols even visit other entertainment companies just to shoot dance challenges. This help both artists to further promote their releases to another fandom, as fans truly love it when idols interact with one another.

However, Soojin only uploaded five shorts/reels alone and one with her dancers.

Compared to other artists, this is extremely low. Even her former group (G)I-DLE filmed over 140 clips during their "Queencard" activities alone.

As a response to this, there are fans and netizens who were intrigued and left comments, like:

"Why aren't you doing the challenge with other groups/idols?"

K-Media Explains Soojin's Reluctance to Do Dance Challenges

Regarding the reason Soojin isn't inviting other idols to do dance challenges with her, the media outlet, Sports Kyunghyang highlighted that Soojin initially announced that:

"There are no plans for domestic activities."

With this, it could be implied that the idol decided not to do the usual activities that idols are doing during album promotion, including dance challenges.

But digging the root of this, both media and fans ended up bringing back Soojin's past school violence controversy, which led her to be kicked out of (G)I-DLE.

At the time, idols being mentioned together with Soojin ended up being criticized; therefore, it is presumed that fellow stars are reluctant to make dance challenge with Soojin for fear of being embroiled in unnecessary rumors and issues.

It could also be that Soojin is aware of this and she made the decision not to do it with other stars.

Soojin was accused in 2021 of bullying when she was still a student. One of the victims was revealed to be actress Seo Shin Ae.

At the time, Cube Entertainment filed a lawsuit against the exposer and Soojin stepped out to deny the accusations. But the sympathy for Seo Shin Ae got stronger, and Soojin received hateful comments, leading her to leave.

In 2022, she finally cleared her name after the police failed to prove that Soojin bullied anyone, but it was too late since the idol's name had been tainted.

She then left Cube Entertainment to start anew with BRD Communications. However, she is continuing her activities without fully removing the "school bully" label.
