1. Taeyeon's 'To. X '

On November 27, SNSD-turned-soloist Taeyeon returned to the music scene with another breakup song, "To X." As hinted by the title, the song refers to the proponent's ex-lover in a letter-like song.

In the lyrics, Taeyeon reminisced about their love story that happened in an instant, yet in the middle, she realized that the "rotation axis of the relationship was always aligned with one side."

Without a sense of sorrow or anger, the main character decided to end the relationship and restore her daily life without him.

2. Day6's 'Congratulations'

"So I give you my best wishes
'Cause I am over you, we overdue
No problem saying 'How do you do?'

"Congratulations" might be an ironic title for a breakup song, but Day6 beautifully laid down the words of the proponent who wished his past girlfriend the best future with her new lover, despite his remaining feelings for her.

The song earnestly pur out the proponent's inner feelings and shows the desire to continue with his life while moving forward.

 3. Girls' Generation's 'Run Devil Run'

While a breakup is painful, it doesn't always have to be sad. Girls' Generation's "Run Devil Run" tells the story of the main character being cheated on by her lover multiple times.

But rather than resentment, SNSD flaunted confidence about their breakup, reminding themselves that they don't need a guy like him.

The girl group also showed how high they value themselves by reminding themselves to wait for the right person and that the best revenge is becoming an even better person.

4. BLACKPINK's 'KILL THIS LOVE'

Amid its powerful sound, BLACKPINK's "KILL THIS LOVE" also showed the determination to end what the proponent is feeling for her past lover after being blinded by love.

In the song, BLACKPINK tackled that breakup is sad and painful but a toxic relationship has to end in order not to lose yourself as well.

5. TOIL's 'Black Heart' (feat. Leellamarz, BE'O)

Producer TOIL put all emotions when parting ways with a lover by using the term, "Black heart."

While the red heart is usually used to express "I love you," due to a relationship in which fights became more frequent and blunt, their hearts turned darker, leading to "farewell" and "moving on."
