THIS is The Reason Why BLACKPINK Jisoo Most Likely Signed With Her Older Brother's Company

With word going around that BLACKPINK member Jisoo has signed with her older brother's company as an artist, Korean media outlets are uncovering the reason why she ultimately chose to depart from YG Entertainment. Keep on reading to learn why.

BLACKPINK Jisoo Reportedly Signs With Older Brother's Company

BLACKPINK member Jisoo has reportedly become business partners with her older brother after deciding not to renew her contract with YG Entertainment for solo activities.

Jennie, another member of BLACKPINK, established the label ODD ATELIER (OA) with her mother. Jisoo, too, joined hands with family, as her older brother runs an infant health functional food company named BioMom.

Despite being a company that works in an entirely different sector, BioMom is recruiting managers, video editors, design managers, account managers, and security for their new subsidiary. BioMom is expected to expand into the entertainment industry under the name Blissoo, with Jisoo as the main face of the label.

Why BLACKPINK Jisoo Chose to Sign With Brother's Agency

Usually, top celebrities who leave their debut companies end up signing with an existing company. If not, they set up new agencies with a manager they used to work with, or, like in Jennie's case, set up an agency with family members.

Jisoo's case is special because her brother's company originally did not work in entertainment; they worked in health and childcare.

BioMom was established in 2020 and became famous for selling lactobacillus to parents for their infants and toddlers. BioMom recently participated in a parenting exhibition in Thailand and is geared to enter the Southeast Asian market. While the brand was already gaining prominence, news that Jisoo joined hands with the company instantly made BioMom a household name not only in South Korea but all over the world.

In short, helping her brother could be a reason why she chose to sign with the company.

On top of that, Jisoo has a lower risk by signing with her brother's company. Since Jisoo chose to expand her brother's business instead of establishing her own company, the expenses and steps required are lessened. On top of that, she can use her brother's knowledge of operating a company to her advantage.

Naturally, Jisoo may easily cut the commission to be paid to the company and change the profit structure to her advantage. Furthermore, Jisoo's management will be able to delegate a number of service charges to BioMom at the corporate level. With four recruits a year if the recruiting announcement is successful, she stands to save a total of 100 million won for each labor cost.

Therefore, it is a win-win situation for both Jisoo's individual entertainment activities and her older brother's business. Jisoo will be reaping major benefits by adhering to the "business expansion family enterprise" concept without founding her own agency.
