Ex-MOMOLAND Daisy Reveals How THIS Rapper Changed Her Role as an Idol

On January 26, 2024, former MOMOLAND member Daisy uploaded a GRWM (get ready with me) video where she spoke about how she became a rapper when she debuted as an idol.

In particular, she explained how the reason she became a rapper is all... Nicki Minaj's fault!

Daisy confessed that when she auditioned for K-pop entertainment companies, she never auditioned as a rapper. Instead, she would prepare a song and a dance, indicating she wanted to be a vocalist.

However, as a trainee (or, in her words, unemployed), you are willing to do anything to stand out. After all, desperate times call for desperate measures. That led Daisy to rack her brains, trying to find a special talent that would set her apart from the other trainees.

All that thinking brought her back to 2010: the year Nicki Minaj dropped her worldwide mega-famous hit, "Super Bass." At that time, Daisy recalled how tweens all around the world did their best to learn the whole rap word-for-word.

Daisy was the leader of the Korean branch, and during a performance, she said she dropped a little, "This one is for the boys with the booming system." According to her, the clueless 40-year-olds were blown away by her rapping skills.

From that day on, Daisy was given the rapper role as an idol.

At first, Daisy dreaded being a rapper, since she always wanted to be a singer. However, she learned to accept her role as a rapper during her short-lived time as a MOMOLAND member.

She confessed that she finds it amusing when fans say they loved her rap parts in songs and even jokingly asked, "Did you listen to my part on mute?!" She states that though she doesn't think she was the best rapper, she did find it fun.
