Taiwanese Celebrity Allegedly Sexually Harassed LE SSERAFIM

On January 29, Korean media outlet TV Report announced a concerning incident revolving around LE SSERAFIM.

The incident allegedly happened at the "Superstar Red & White Entertainment Awards," a special program for the Spring Festival in Taiwan that aired on January 27.

The girl group was invited to perform at the event. While waiting for their performance, the girl group ran into Taiwanese singer and actor Huang Weijin.

The "Superstar Red & White Entertainment Awards" organized a tasting event. According to the report, the members of LE SSERAFIM informed Huang Weijing that they were going to eat sweet potato balls with bamboo skewers.

During an interview portion, Huang Weijin reportedly said, "I want to put it in, too. The sweet potato balls underneath them."

It is unknown what language he spoke with the LE SEERAFIM members, not how the girl group responded.

A participant in the "Superstar Red & White Entertainment Awards," Sha Sha, pointed out how wrong his words were, saying, "Weijin, I think you made a mistake."

Huang Weijin then defended himself, saying, "I just meant I wanted to eat the same meal as them. I had no ill intentions."

However, after the incident became widely known, several internet users called out the Taiwanese singer-actor.

On January 28, he issued an apology on social media.

He claimed he wanted to react to Yunjin's words without making it awkward. He stated that the intentions of his words were misunderstood, and what he wanted to say was that he was happy to share delicious food with his favorite idols.

"Part of the broadcast was the tasting event, where we could eat delicious food one by one, and I instinctively wanted to react when Yunjin said that she would eat sweet potato balls. I didn't want to make the eating process awkward. [...] I said something that everyone misunderstood, but what I wanted to say in my heart was, 'I am happy to share delicious food with my favorite idol'."
