On February 11, 2024, a post titled "Kang Sunghoon's apology video" was posted to a popular South Korean community forum.

The video includes GIFs from a TikTok video posted by the former Sechskies member. In the video, he does a deep bow and then proceeds to act cute. The video includes the caption, "I know it's so sudden for all ya'll, but sorry for being so cute! Oh my! I'm so sorry!"

Though the post was posted recently, the TikTok itself was posted over two years ago. He posted the video to the platform on February 4, 2022.

The post garnered over 97,000 views on the forum, with many slamming the former idol. Due to his previous controversies, many did not take his "apology" for being cute kindly.

Former Sechskies Kang Sunghoon's Past Scandals

Kang Sunghoon has been embroiled in three major scandals in his past, all from 2019. His biggest scandal was when he was accused of fraud. At the time, Kang Sunghoon was meant to have a solo fan meeting in Taiwan, but it was canceled. The tickets were not refunded properly, and the idol's fan club was accused of embezzling fan donations.

Another scandal arose after a video of him chatting with fans was leaked in 2019. In the video, he claimed present-day idols (third-generation idols at the time) were all "ugly" and had "dirty skin." He has since apologized for the video, saying he felt disappointed with himself and does not know why he said such a thing. He also apologized to juniors in the industry.
