K-Netz Recall EXO Sehun's Story of How He Was Cast by SM Entertainment

On February 12, a post titled, "A kid like this debuted because he was chased by SM," went viral with over 247k views and about 400 recommendations.

In particular, the main character of the post was none other than EXO Sehun!

In the post, his pre-debut and recent photos showing his growth under SM Entertainment were shared, drawing attention.

Aside from the photos, the OP also shared how he was scouted on the street while eating tteokbokki.

Shockingly, the turn of events wasn't the usual street-casting where a scout manager would invite a person to audition by giving their calling card, but rather, it led to a chasing game... literally!

According to Sehun in a past interview, before becoming a trainee and debuting as EXO, SM scout manager, an adult woman, found him while eating tteokbokki from his primary school.

He was given a business card but realizing how his parents would remind him to avoid interaction with strangers, Sehun ran away from SM's scout manager.

However, she didn't give up and chased after him which lasted for 30 minutes until Sehun, who was an elementary student, got tired and ended up giving his mother's contact information.

When he reached his home, the manager was already contacting his mother and long story short, he entered SM Entertainment and debuted as the maknae of "Nation's Pick" boy group, EXO.

In the photos shared by the OP, the 12-year-old Sehun already showed distinct facial features at a young age.

Fun fact! He was actually an "ulzzang" prior to becoming an idol who became famous on the internet for his pretty face.

In his photos, Sehun grew older, then exuding his manly features. At the time, he received various awards and recognition for his visuals, joining the list of "Most Handsome Faces in Asia" in 2020. He ranked No. 2 among Asians, but he snagged the first spot among Koreans, even beating ASTRO Cha Eun Woo who ranked third place.
