TWICE member Momo's older sister revealed she receives hate comments for being related to the famous idol.

ONCEs are well aware that Momo has a talented older sister named Hana. In fact, Momo was scouted by JYP Entertainment after they found a video of her dancing with her sister. Though both Hirai siblings auditioned, only Momo passed. Hana is currently active in Japan.

TWICE Momo's Sister Confesses Hardships Due to Hate Comments

On April 16, 2024, Hana appeared on the latest episode of Fuji TV's "Suddenly, Can I Predict? (rough translation). There, she confessed that she is uncomfortable having a famous idol as a younger sister.

During the broadcast, the fortune teller pointed out, "Your younger sister is doing very well, but what about you...?" As the fortune teller subtly compared her lackluster situation with Momo, who debuted with TWICE in 2015, Hana immediately agreed with the comparison.

She then confessed that she is often compared to her sister online, stating, "I'm often compared to my sister. She's an idol, and I also dance... People often compare our appearances." Hana then revealed that the comments caused her confidence to hit a new low.

She added, "Because Momo has better style, is taller than me, and is slimmer, there are often times when I am compared to my sister in terms of our appearance."

Hana even revealed that she often hears comments like "You look nothing alike. You should get plastic surgery," which shocked the audience. Models Michopa and Ikeda Miyu, who appeared on the show with her, were also surprised, responding with "What?" to the rude remarks from internet users.

Normally, Hana uploads photos with her sister Momo on her social media. However, due to the countless comments netizens leave comparing their visuals or making inappropriate remarks about Hana's appearance, the dancer faces some self-esteem issues.

In response, the fortune teller advised Hana to "have more confidence." Hana nodded in agreement, saying, "I don't know if I've been relying on my sister too much."

Hana, who is Momo's older sister and a dancer, was born in 1994 and started learning dance at the age of four. It is known that around the sixth grade of elementary school, she began dancing in earnest after joining a dance team with her sister, and she has been active as a choreographer as well.
