2NE1 Scheduled To Appear Without Park Bom At SBS's Year-End Show

2NE1 will be attending SBS's year-end award show, minus member Park Bom.

Three members of YG Entertainment's headline girl group will be attending the Seoul Broadcasting System's (SBS) Gayo Daejun music festival on December 21, according to media reports. CL, Sandara Park, and Minzy will attend the event together, but it is unclear whether the trio will perform. Park Bom will not appear due to allegations in July 2014 that she was involved in a medicinal drug smuggling incident in 2010.

In October, it had been reported that 2NE1 would not attend any year-end award ceremonies, leading to disbandment rumors following the announcement of CL's upcoming solo debut in America.

Park Bom's scandal broke in July, after journalists reported on a four-year-old issue where Park Bom was said to be found receiving packages from her family in the United States with medicine that is illegal in South Korea. The prosecutor's office involved didn't pursue charges, leading to accusations of favoritism based on celebrity status.

Following the news, Park Bom withdrew from her Korean activities, including filming for SBS's reality show Roommate, and entered a period of reflection. She did continue to tour with 2NE1 outside of Korea.

Even though Park Bom has not appeared on Korean broadcasts since halting Korean promotions following the scandal, she did appear at the AIA Real Life NOW Festival in August.

This will be the first time that 2NE1 has appeared on a Korean broadcast network since the incident.

YG Entertainment has not announced when 2NE1 will return to Korean promotions as a four-member unit. The entertainment agency's only confirmed plan for 2NE1 in 2015 is CL's upcoming US solo debut.
