The final winners of the popularity vote categories for the 29th Golden Disk Awards have been announced through the event website. The popularity vote categories included the Album, Digitial Album, and New Artist Divisions. 

With 27.19% of the popular vote, SHINee’s Taemin is the winner of in the Album Division for his solo release “Ace.” He received a total of 729,789 votes as compared to 483,286 votes for ToHeart’s self-titled first mini album.

In the Digital Album Division, Beast received 47.98% of the popular vote to win over Girls’ Generation. Beast received a total of 819, 248 votes for their album “Good Luck.” Girls’ Generation placed secondwith a total of 596, 183 votes. Meanwhile, EXO trailed in the category with only 132, 163 votes for their album “Overdose.”

The New Artist Division was an incredibly close race but fans of GOT7 rallied behind the group to give help them win with 53.89% of the vote for their song “A.” WINNER placed second with 928, 087 votes for “Isolated.” GOT7 and WINNER both debuted in 2014 but have amassed large numbers of fans due to their unique musical styles. 

Fans had the opportunity to cast their votes through the mobile application We Fans. 

The 29th Golden Disk Awards will be held over a two day period at Beijing’s Master Card Center on January 14 and 15.
