Legend of the Blue Sea may just be the most highly anticipated TV series in Korea today. The upcoming series will see the new team up of superstars Jeon Ji-hyun of My Love from the Star and Lee Min-ho of The Heirs.

Numerous fans have already been wondering what this new pairing will bring forth and if the two of them would have great chemistry together onscreen. But it's not just the lead actors that the fans should be watching out for. The whole series itself boasts a colorful casting as well as a unique and compelling storyline that the viewers are sure to enjoy.

According to Allkpop, the cast of the drama had just recently returned after two months of filming in Spain and a series of photos of the cast conducting their first script reading have also been released by SBS on October 8.

Even without makeup, fans can still feel the striking presence of Jeon Ji-hyun and Lee Min-ho as they partake in the script reading. The series is written by Park Ji Eun who also worked with Ji-hyun in My Love from the Star and is directed by Jin-hyeok who worked with Lee Min-ho in City Hunter so the series itself is like one big happy reunion.

Writer Ji Eun expressed how it is an honor for her to be working alongside great actors while promising to create a drama that will be memorable to the viewers.

Legend of the Blue Sea features Jeon Ji-hyun as the last mermaid in the world who ventures forth into the human world while Lee Min-ho plays a sexy con-artist. When their paths converge, their lives will be forever changed.

The series will also feature Lee Hee Joon, Shin Hye-sun, Sung Dong-il, Hwang Shin-hye, Moon So-ri, Lee Ji-hoon and Na Young-hee. GOT7's Jinyoung will portray a young Lee Min-ho, as reported by Dramabeans.

People are already curious as to how the series will end or whether or not Ji-hyun's character will remain human. It would definitely be hilarious if Lee Min-ho's character ends up becoming a merman so that they could repopulate the oceans together!

Legend of the Blue Sea will start airing on November 16, 2016 and will be Lee Min-ho's last TV series before he enlists for his Mandatory Military Service.
