KBS has began to cast the actors and actress for the new weekend drama “My Father is Strange” with Lee-Joon as main character. The other cast members is actress Kim So-Yeon. While veteran actor are Kim Young-Chul and actress Jung So-Min who were offered the role has not announced their commitment but seriously considered to join.

The Korean weekend drama is not as glamorous as the weekday drama which mostly have short episodes. Weekend drama which aired on Saturday and Sunday night at 8:00 PM have longer episodes and mostly focus on the story surrounding family affairs. KBS has prepared its new weekend drama to replace the currently aired “The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop.”

The new drama titled “My Father is Strange” which is translated from its working title 아버지가 이상해 (abojiga isanghae=Weird Father) is projected to air in February 2017. Young actor Lee-Jun who currently played in the MBC drama “Woman with a Suitcase” is cast as one of the lead character. Other name who was mentioned to join the cast Kim So-Yeon, while another name who is expected to join is veteran actor are Kim Young-Chul and actress Jung So-Mi

So-Yeon has confirmed to join the cast members of “My Father is Strange” according to official release  from the KBS. The 36-year old actress last drama project was MBC weekend drama “Happy Home” wrapped its final episode last August.

Young actress Jung has been offered the role but she hasn’t announced her decision yet. As currently she still has engagement with another KBS drama “Sound of Your Heart” which to end in January 2017. Other actor which is expected to join the cast is veteran Kim Young-Chul.

In an interview with the press as reported by News1, Young-Chul said that he considered to join the drama. He is well-known as the main antagonist Baek-San in the two seasons of espionage drama "IRIS," and this project will reunite him with fellow IRIS cast member So-Yeon. His recent project was in the MBC drama “Happy Home.”
