BTS Death Threat Update: Security Beefed Up In Upcoming "The Wings" Tour Venues, ARMY Vows To Protect Jimin

Fans of BTS in the US should expect tighter security in the upcoming concert venues of the "2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour". This came amid Big Hit Entertainment's statement with regard to death threat issued against BTS member Jimin by an alleged anti-fan.

According to a report by SBS Pop Asia, the incident stemmed from a rumor that Jimin hated his international fans. One particular social media user started posting hate comments against the singer before things got out of hand and he started issuing death threats with photos of blood and guns. He further said that he will strike during BTS's sold out concert at the Honda Center this weekend.

"We believe that it is a joke by an anti-fan, but we are taking measures just to be sure," Big Hit Entertainment stated. "We are working with the local staff and police to enhance the security."

Members of BTS' ARMY fandom immediately expressed worry over Jimin's welfare and sent messages to the security office of Honda Center to inform them of the threat. Security officials responded that they have already beefed up security at the venue and are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the performers.

It has been confirmed that Honda Center will utilize metal detector entryways, bag checks and increase security personnel at the venue to make sure that no weapons will get through to cause any threat to Jimin and the rest of BTS. ARMY members have also pledged to be vigilant to protect Jimin. As a matter of fact, the hashtag #ArmysWillProtectJimin effortlessly trended on Twitter worldwide on the day the death threat was reported.

Meanwhile, BTS successfully kicked off their US tour with a jam-packed concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey last Thursday and Friday. During the three hour run of the show, BTS entertained their fans with their hits like "Spring Day", "Not Today" and "Blood Sweat and Tears," along with their other tracks coupled with excellent choreography and high impact stage presence identified with the Bangtan Boys, Billboard reported.

Aside from New Jersey, BTS will also be performing at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on March 29. They will be concluding their tour with a two-night event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on April 1 and 2.
