K-Pop Idol Arrested Due To Involvement With Drug Smuggling Ring

This former K-pop idol was arrested on charges of drug smuggling. The idol was identified as Steelo of the now disbanded boy group "Underdog".

According to Koreaboo, the K-pop idol was among the 101 people the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency suspected to be a member of a drug smuggling group. Steelo was among the 19 people arrested on Wednesday, April 26.

The drug smuggling ring the K-pop idol was allegedly a member of smuggles drugs in and out of South Korea, specifically in the Gangnam district. The drugs are sent to the country via international mail disguised as a normal package.

The K-pop idol actually confirmed the allegations when he was interrogated by the police. Steelo stated that he was asked to join in smuggling drugs in which he willingly agreed, presumably because of the huge cash it comes with.

The K-pop idol's agency, 2able Company, was asked regarding the arrest of their former talent. The agency claimed they had no information regarding the arrest.

In their statement, 2able Company said that both Underdog and Steelo's contract has been terminated for quite some time now. Underdog members are currently pursuing different paths at the moment so they don't know what is currently happening to them, especially their former K-pop talent Stello.

All that the agency knows is that Steelo was once hospitalized for a month because of concerns about his health. That was the last time 2able Company heard of the K-pop idol.

Earlier this week, another former K-pop idol was also arrested and indicted for drug use. Cha Joo Hyuk, a former member of the K-pop co-ed group "COED SCHOOL", was indicted for using 3 types of drugs in 2016.

As previously reported, Cha Joo Hyuk was recently indicted for buying and using ecstasy, ketamine, and marijuana. The K-pop idol also tried to bring ketamine inside Canada and was refused to enter the country in 2016.
