On the 23rd of January, SM Entertainment released a statement that starting from next month not until March, function and purchasing power of EXO-L ACE will be suspended on LYSN. Meaning to say, an EXO-L ACE won't be able to purchase and have any conversion to the official fandom membership, and this also includes the perks and disadvantages of being an ACE member such as discounts and other privileges they experience compared to the regular member.

This is an exercise to regulate and minimize other ACE members who were abusing their power, being fed up by the authority they have that leads to mistreatment to the regular or "Basic" members, or those who were registered to the application or website for free (without paying any sum unlike to the ACE who purchase a VIP membership). The ACE and Basic membership have caused a spark and make both parties grew apart with each other, also causing the ACE member to apply their authority to SM Entertainment itself. This angered the Basic EXO-l member and lead to throwing hate comments to international fans. 

Both break the rule, and they have to start on the basic membership regardless of who can pay or not. However, this is temporary, and the renewal and application for ACE members will resume in the month of March. On the other hand, this is not only exclusive for EXO-L ACE members but as well to other fandoms, including other SM idol groups such as Red Velvet, Super Junior, SHINee, NCT, TVXQ, and Girls' Generation.
