In their vlog series, Starship Entertainment boy group MONSTA X shows fans what it's like behind the recording of their latest hit, "GAMBLER," in a behind-the-scenes special.

For the 235th episode of their MONCHANNEL series, MONSTA X appeared clean and bare faced, revealing a casual charm. In their video available on their Naver V LIVE and YouTube channels, Jooheon took the lead in introducing the professionals who worked with them on the track.

As it was Jooheon's first title track produced for the group, fans could see his nervousness and excitement to do "GAMBLER," introducing the composition team and frequent collaborator Ye-Yo.

Ever the mindful idols, MONSTA X member Jooheon apologized in advance for speaking without his mask on, even showing the face mask he had with him from the K-Pop fan interaction platform UNIVERSE.

Kicking off their recording session was Minhyuk, who was also in the studio and playfully cheering Jooheon. Understanding the idea and the feel behind the song, Minhyuk carefully records his line, and gives a mysterious approach to the track by listening to his co-members' advice.

Shownu was also in the studio working with Minhyuk and Jooheon when Hyungwon, still appearing sleepy, arrived. After Minhyuk completed his recording part, Shownu was the next to perform, with Jooheon and Minhyuk saying that his part is completely up in his alley and shouldn't take too long.

When asked how Jooheon directs, Shownu explains: "Joohoney emphasizes energy and pitch and he tries to make it fun." After recording his part, Shownu went to the back of the studio, enjoyed some chips, while explaining the strengths of their new title track.

"There is a typical melody line for Joohoney, which you'll know if you're a MONBEBE, and I think the combination harmonizes well... Simply, just a nice song," the MONSTA X leader explained. He adds that it gets better the more you listen to it.

Hyungwon showed interest in understanding the lines he recorded, saying: "I will put honey on my voice," giving a "sticky" feel in singing the lyrics. With Jooheon's close direction, Hyungwon soon completed his tasks for the "GAMBLER" recording.
