Name and Debut Date of the New Girl Group with 4 Former "Girls Planet 999" Contestants Revealed

On Dec. 24, FC ENM announced that Hayase Hana, Kishida Ririka, Chang Ching and Lee Yunji, all of whom participated in Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," will debut in their upcoming girl group.

On Jan. 5, more details about the launch of the girl group were revealed. FC ENM's girl group's debut date will be sometime in March and their group name will be ILY:1. Later today at 6 p.m. KST, the label will open ILY:1's social media accounts.

"ILY:1" is a combination of the word "I" and the suffix "-ly," which means "like I" or "like myself." The "1" symbolizes the individual members with distinct characteristics forming one group. The group name also carries the additional meaning of the acronym for "I Love You," representing the band's love for their fans. The name is pronounced "eye-li-one."

Previously, it was announced that FC ENM's girl group with four former "Girls Planet 999" contestants will comprise six members. This means two more trainees are yet to be unveiled.

ILY:1 will be the agency's first girl group and third singing artist after male soloists Kevin and Kim Kyu Jong (of SS501).

Performances of Kishida Ririka, Hayase Hana, Chang Ching and Lee Yunji on "Girls Planet 999"

As mentioned above, FC ENM's trainees Chang Ching, Hayase Hana, Kishida Ririka and Lee Yunji are all former contestants in Mnet's survival show "Girls Planet 999," which aired from August to October 2021. Unfortunately, all of them failed to make it to the final round and the debut lineup.

While Chang Ching and Lee Yunji only lasted until episode 5 of "Girls Planet 999," Hayase Hana made it until episode 8, and Kishida Ririka managed to compete until episode 11.

While waiting for their debut in FC ENM's girl group, let's look back on their performances on Mnet's latest girl group survival show.

During the planet demo stage, Chang Ching was part of the group that performed CLC's "Helicopter," while Lee Yunji covered aespa's "Black Mamba." As for Hayase Hana and Kishida Ririka, they performed TWICE's "Fancy" together with other Japanese trainees.

When the first mission, called "Connect Mission," came, Chang Ching and Hayase Hana performed Oh My Girl's "The Fifth Season" as members of Team 1. This marked Chang Ching's last performance on "Girls Planet 999."

Lee Yunji was a part of the team that covered SEVENTEEN's "Pretty U" during the Connect Mission. This is also her last participation in the show. Meanwhile, Kishida Ririka was included in Team 2 that covered TWICE's "YES or YES."

Moving onto the second mission, "Combination Mission," Hana performed Little Mix's "Salute" while Ririka performed BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez's "Ice Cream." This marked Hayase Hana's last mission on "Girls Planet 999."

Then, during the "Creation Mission," Kishida Ririka was a part of the team that covered POP! CORN's "Shoot!"
