NCT Taeyong's 'Neo City: Seoul' Solo Stage Was Supposed to Be Collab with THIS SHINee Member

NCT Taeyong recently shared that his "Moonlight" solo stage at "Neo City: Seoul" was initially planned to be a collaboration with a particular SHINee member.

NCT Taeyong Reveals He Intended to Perform With THIS SHINee Member at 'Neo City: Seoul'

From Dec. 17 to 19, NCT 127 held their second solo concert, titled "Neo City: Seoul - The Link," at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea. The first two shows had live audience members, while the last one took place with both online viewers and in-person audiences.

Throughout the event, fans witnessed not only group performances but also solo stages of Taeil, Taeyong, Johnny, and others. Taeyong, in particular, performed a "Moonlight" solo stage.

On March 2, a behind-the-scenes video of NCT 127's "Neo City: Seoul" was uploaded to the group's official YouTube channel. It shows the preparation of members Taeyong, Taeil, and Johnny for their solo performances.

During Taeyong's interview, he shared that he spent plenty of time picking which of his solo songs he should perform at the concert. He added that he chose to do dances that were not that hard.

NCT 127's leader went on to say that he initially chose to perform "Blue" but he preferred to give brighter energy to the fans. So, he decided to do "Moonlight" instead.

However, it turned out that NCT 127 Taeyong's solo stage at "Neo City: Seoul" was supposed to be a collaboration between him and SHINee Taemin.

He said, "I actually worked on the song 'Moonlight,' hoping to perform it with Taemin. But I'll be doing it by myself for this concert."

Taemin started his mandatory military service on May 31 of last year, so he was unable to perform "Moonlight" with Taeyong. Upon learning about this, many fans took to Twitter to express their shock and desire to see the two take the stage together for a "Moonlight" performance.

NCT 127's Comeback Ahead of 'Neo City: Seoul - The Link'

Before their second world tour "Neo City: Seoul - The Link," NCT 127 released the repackaged version of their third album "Sticker," titled "Favorite."

Released on Oct. 25, 2021, "Favorite" contains the title song "Favorite (Vampire)" and two new songs along with the 11 tracks from "Sticker." "Favorite (Vampire)" is an R&B pop dance song that contains the message that their lover is their everything and the one that brings them happiness, even if the relationship will end awfully.

On Nov. 3, nine days after its release, NCT 127's "Favorite" surpassed one million in sales, earning a "million seller" title. This made the group a triple million-seller as the original album "Sticker" sold over two million copies.

Even before it arrived, "Favorite" already recorded a total of 1.06 million copies in pre-order sales, becoming the most pre-ordered repackaged album in the history of SM Entertainment.

Meanwhile, NCT 127 took home three music show trophies for "Favorite (Vampire)," two of which on "M Countdown" and one on "Show! Music Core."
