On September 9, the male idol finally dropped his new album, "MAGIC MAN," after long preparation under his own studio TEAM WANG records and partnership with 88rising Records, Warner Record and RYCE MUSIC GROUP.
Contrary to his cute and refreshing image from GOT7's hit track, "Just Right," Jackson Wang came to the music scene with a stronger look this time as a soloist, which boosted the excitement of fans even more.
In particular, the album contains a total of 10 songs: "Blow," "Cruel," "Champagne Cool," "Go Ghost," "Drive It Like You Stole It," "Come Alive," "Just Like Magic," "All The Way," "Dopamine," and "Blue."
On the same day, the music video for his b-sidetrack, "Blue," was also unveiled, and its intense vibe shows how much he has prepared to walk the path of an artist.
The style and visuals have changed significantly from the concepts of his previously released music videos for "BLOW" and "CRUEL."
Jackson Wang Drops 'BLOW," 'CRUEL' MVs Ahead of Studio Album Release
Prior to the official release of the album, Jackson initially met fans through his digital single, "BLOW," on March 31.
"BLOW" is Jackson's first English single in 2022, which is a song that brought back the 90s hard rock sound. It was created by a combination of analog and digital, piquing the curiosity of music fans. It is his first song on the album, "MAGIC MAN."
When it was released, "BLOW" MV caught the eye of viewers with a mysterious atmosphere and unconventional production. On top of that, Jackson's imaginative appearance with a sensual aura doubles the experience of fans.
Following this track, Jackson also dropped the album's second single, "CRUEL" on July 29, along with its music video. The song is a rough but beautiful symphony-style song with grunge and raw sound and contains the story of "MAGIC MAN UNIVERSE."
In the music video for "CRUEL," Jackson showed dark sexy charm and even showed a fascinating aura, catching the attention of global fans. In April, he initially introduced this song during his performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
The main highlight of the three MVs is the fact that the male idol played the role of creative director and participated in the story scenarios himself.
