5 Female K-pop Idols Who Once Looked Like Soloists Because of Their Stage Outfit [Updated 2023]

For every performance, either on music shows or award ceremonies, K-pop idols' outfits are often one of the things that become a hot topic among fans and netizens. Some outfits would garner attention for how they make the artists appear classy and luxurious, while other attires receive negative responses for how weird they look on the celebrities. But there are also outfits that made several K-pop idols seem like soloists while performing on stage.

Below is a list of female K-pop idols who once looked like solo artists because of their stage outfit.

5 Female K-pop Idols Who Once Looked Like Soloists Because of Their Stage Outfit

BLACKPINK Rosé

The first one on our list is BLACKPINK Rosé. Back in 2018, BLACKPINK performed their hit song "As If It's Your Last" at Seoul Music Awards. All four members were all stunning as always.

But it was noticeable that while Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo were all wearing black clothing, Rosé was sporting an all-white outfit, making her stand out and appear like a soloist. Nevertheless, each member still shined throughout their performance.

IVE Jang Wonyoung

There was also a time when Jang Wonyoung looked like a solo artist when IVE was performing on stage, particularly at the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon when IVE performed their debut song "ELEVEN."

At that time, Wonyoung was the only one in an all-white outfit. Her attire featured similar shimmering accessories and boots, but her entire outfit waas white with a hint of black. Meanwhile, the outfits of the rest of the IVE members were mainly black with accents of white. The difference in clothes was more apparent during the beginning formation as the backup dancers also wore black.

aespa Karina

aespa Karina's case is similar to IVE Jang Wonyoung and BLACKPINK Rosé. When aespa held their first fan meeting in Seoul, "MY SYNK. aespa," in July, Karina stood out on stage because she was the only one wearing an all-white attire when they were performing "Girls."

Meanwhile her co-members were all wearing black. And of course, to match her white outfit, aespa Karina also had white boots, while Winter, Giselle, and Ningning had black ones.

Red Velvet Seulgi

Red Velvet Seulgi also joins our list of female K-pop idols who appeared as soloists because of their stage outfit. But in her case, she wasn't wearing an all-white outfit.

When Red Velvet appeared on SBS's "Inkigayo" back in November 2019 to perform their comeback song "Peek-A-Boo," the girls were wearing rainbow-themed outfits. In fact, Joy went viral for her rainbow dress. But aside from her, Seulgi also caught people's attention because of her black outfit with a blue mesh top. In short, she was the only one who wasn't wearing colorful attire.

Billlie Tsuki

Finally, Tsuki appeared as a solo artist when Billlie performed "GingaMingaYo (the strange world)" on MBC's "Show! Music Core" in March.

Although she was also wearing orange, the shade of her outfit is much lighter than the clothes of her co-members, making her more noticeable from afar. Notably, this was also the time she went viral because of her numerous facial expressions while dancing.

Do you know other female K-pop idols who once looked like soloists because of their stage outfits being different from their fellow members?
