SISTAR Wouldn't Exist Without Hyolyn as Main Vocalist? Here's What Idol Thinks

One of the legendary girl groups that K-pop fans won't forget is definitely SISTAR, who is dubbed as the "Queens of Summer" because of their numerous summer bops such as "Shake It," "Touch My Body," "Give It To Me," "Summer Time," and more.

Despite them being a disbanded act, their tracks remain popular among fans especially during the summer season and the members still receive love and support from STAR1 (SISTAR's fan club).

This past July, SISTAR made their highly-anticipated reunion on "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" five years after their disbandment in 2017. They performed their hit songs "Touch My Body," "Shake It," "Loving U," and "Alone."

Like most K-pop groups, the former members of SISTAR were also given specific positions. In particular, Hyolyn was leader, main vocalist, and face of the group, Bora was the main rapper and main dancer, Soyou was the lead vocalist, and Dasom was the visual and maknae.

In episode 4 of "Daebak Show with Eric Nam" (Season 2), Hyolyn was asked if SISTAR wouldn't exist without her as the main vocalist.

Toward the middle of the episode, Eric Nam and Hyolyn played a game called "True or False," where the female soloist had to confirm or deny a statement. This is to check the differences between the public's perspective on her and the actual Hyolyn.

The first statement was, "As the main vocalist Hyolyn, there would be no SISTAR today without me."

The female idol immediately answered, "False." Eric Nam then asked, "What would SISTAR be without Hyolyn?"

In response, the soloist explained, "For 12 years, I have had the same opinion about SISTAR. And I share this with my members, too. The company that made it possible for SISTAR to debut and the four members. I always say that if the agency and the four members didn't meet, there wouldn't be SISTAR."

Hyolyn continued, "If at least one is missed among them, there wouldn't be SISTAR at all. I have always thought that SISTAR was made possible because the company and four members meet. So, I'm sure 'False' is the right answer."

The female idol surely made her statement clear, as any idol group wouldn't exist if one member is missing and if an agency isn't involved.
