To recall, X1 was made up of 11 members namely Yohan, Wooseok, Seungwoo, Hyeongjun, Seungyoun, Dongpyo, Hangyul, Dohyon, Junho, Minhee, and Eunsang. These boys made their debut on Aug. 27, 2019 with their first album "Emergency: Quantum Leap." The album's title track, "Flash," earned the group a total of 11 trophies in different music shows until Sept. 19.

However, in November 2019, Ahn Joonyoung, the producer of "Produce x 101," was arrested, and he later admitted to rigging the vote rankings of the contestants.

Subsequently, CJ ENM and X1's individual agencies met to discuss the group's future. After their deliberation, it was decided that X1 will disband. Although the boys were initially contracted for five years, their activities ended only after nearly five months of their debut, on Jan. 6, 2020.

But even though X1 is no longer promoting as a group, they continue to be one of the most popular 4th gen K-pop boy groups on Melon, the largest streaming platform in South Korea.

How Are Netizens Reacting to X1 Being One of the Top 5 Popular 4th Gen K-pop Boy Groups on Melon This 2022?

Along with the charts, the netizen who created the Nate Pann post wrote, "Even in the cumulative numbers, X1 made it to the ranking. Is this for real? X1 is among the A-list idols of the 4th gen."

They added, "If they only didn't disband, they probably would've been the top 4th gen since they have high general public popularity. They only released one album and they are still ranking fourth in the cumulative streams and first in songs in 2022."

Here's how other netizens reacted:

"For real, it's after they disbanded that the 4th gen K-pop boy groups are a bit weak."

"I still like them. I hope they will reunite."

"It's too bad they disbanded early."

"X1 had an overwhelming popularity at the time they debuted."

"The quality of their debut song was good after all."

"Of course, it was right to disband, but if they had been active until now, the other 4th gen male idols wouldn't get the attention they're receiving now."
