In the past seven days, a lot has happened in the K-pop scene. Several new songs came out, along with interesting reports. Here's a recap of what you might have missed in the past week.

K-pop Comebacks December 2022: Super Junior, NCT Dream, NewJeans

Super Junior "Celebrate"

On Dec. 15, Super Junior returned to the music scene with the second part of their 11th studio album titled "The Road: Celebration." The album is led by "Celebrate," which is a pop song that commemorates the journey so far, expressing love and thanks to those who have been by Super Junior's side for a long period.

"The Road: Celebration" saw great success on iTunes charts, ranking first in 21 regions and landing in the top five of 29 other regions. "Celebration" even topped iTunes Song charts in 11 regions.

NCT Dream "Candy"

Another new K-pop song that was dropped in the third week of December 2022 is NCT Dream's "Candy," which is a remake of H.O.T's 1996 song of the same name. The brand-new rendition received massive love from Korean music lovers, becoming the only third boy group song to reach No. 1 on MelOn's Top 100 this 2022. Moreover, "Candy" made NCT Dream the only third boy group to enter the top 10 of MelOn's 24Hits chart in history.

Meanwhile, the single "Candy" topped iTunes Album charts in at least 16 regions, as well as QQ Music's digital album sales chart.

NewJeans "Ditto"

Released by NewJeans, "Ditto" is a new K-pop song as well. It is a pre-release single that serves as the group's first project since their debut EP "NewJeans" arrived in early August.

Within just six hours of its release, "Ditto" climbed up to No. 1 on major Korean real-time charts such as Bugs, Genie, and MelOn.

Additionally, NewJeans' pre-release song claimed No. 1 on iTunes Song charts in at least seven regions, and became the second most-searched term on China's Weibo on the same day of its release.

Two K-pop Artists to Perform on Dick Clark's New Year's Eve

On Dec. 6, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) announced that they are part of the lineup of performing artists on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve."

Nine days later, it was revealed that BTS J-Hope will also be one of the performers at the event, which is scheduled to take place on Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET.

LOONA to Not Hold Comeback Showcase for New Album "0"

Amid the controversy surrounding Blockberry Creative and Chuu, LOONA is gearing up for their comeback in January next year. But, the company announced that the girl group will not hold a showcase for their new album "0." The label, however, didn't give the reason.

Dispatch Details Dispute Between Chuu & Blockberry Creative

On Dec. 19, Dispatch published a lengthy article detailing the dispute currently happening between former LOONA Chuu and Blockberry Creative. The article included text messages that are considered evidence of Chuu's "abuse of power," salary division between LOONA and Chuu, and Chuu's exclusive contract.

PENTAGON Member, Former TO1 Members Reportedly Competing in Mnet's "Boys Planet"

On Dec. 19, it was reported that a PENTAGON member will appear on Mnet's "Boys Planet" as one of the contestants. One day later, it was reported that two former TO1 members will also compete in the survival show.
