Former Lovelyz Jin Criticized For Idol-Dating Topic Discussion, Posts Apology Letter
On February 5, former Lovelyz member Jin uploaded a video featuring a Q&A on idol life talk. In the content, the idol took her time answering questions from curious fans.
During the video, Jin answered a query which tackled dating in the K-pop industry. In this topic, Jin explained that even though idols were busy with their schedules, they would date in secret. Since it was also unavoidable for them not to interact behind stages, falling in love is also far from hopeless.
Furthermore, she also brought up how most of the agencies are strict on their artists dating during rookie phases. However, Jin mentioned when idols grow over time, they become more confident with their resolve in engaging romantic connections.

While many of her thoughts satisfied fans, many were also quick to criticize Jin, leading her to apologize online. According to Jin's statement, she acknowledged the matter at hand and elaborated that the purpose of the video was simply to answer fans' questions.

"Before uploading this Q&A video, I received questions through Instagram in advance, and the most frequently asked questions were about dating. Since the purpose of this video was to satisfy your curiosity, I thought I answered well by keeping my own lines."
"I never thought that it would cause such misunderstanding and controversy. Thoughts were short. Whether I intended it or not, I think it was definitely wrong to make room for misinterpretation."
"I'm really sorry for causing controversy. I will delete that video. I apologize once again."

After posting her apology, many fans jumped on Jin's defense. Their fans, Lovelinus, stated there was nothing wrong with what Jin said, as she was only laying facts.
