BABYMONSTER is off to a great start!

On December 1, YG Entertainment officially announced that BABYMONSTER's debut music video for "BATTER UP" has finally reached 50 million views as of 7:48 a.m., KST. The MV was released on November 27, exciting many fans who patiently waited for the girl group.

According to sources, "BATTER UP" achieved this milestone in under 4 days and 8 hours. This led the release to become the fastest debut MV to achieve the feat. As of December 1, the music video currently garners a total of 50,864,701 views on YouTube.

Earlier on November 27, the single gained attention across the K-pop community and global music charts. On iTunes, the song also charted in over 21 countries, proving their appeal to the international music market.

"BATTER UP" also managed to claim a spot on the Worldwide Chart's Top 5. Within 24 hours of its release, the music video accumulated 22.6 million views, breaking the record for the most viewed debut music video and dethroning aespa's "Black Mamba" in 2020.

YG Entertainment Clarifies Ahyeon's Inclusion in BABYMONSTER

In other news, YG Entertainment responded to the reports of Ahyeon leaving BABYMONSTER.

On November 16, the agency told Korean news outlets that Ahyeon would not be leaving the girl group and would only be focusing her time to recover due to health concerns.

"Due to health reasons, (Ahyeon) will use her time to rest and the six members will hold BABYMONSTER's debut," the agency shared.

The update sparked reactions in the K-pop community since everyone has been anticipating Ahyeon to be BABYMONSTER's "center" member.

The starlet has caught everyone's interest with her talent, visuals, and charismatic pull, which also led her to be touted by fans as the next BLACKPINK Jennie in the fourth generation.
